CHARITY
Our Charity Beneficiary
Wed By Hand is please to announce Ottawa-based charity Fertile Future as our 2012 Charity Beneficiary! About the charity:
"Fertile Future is a national non-profit organization that provides fertility preservation information and support services to cancer patients and oncology professionals throughout Canada. Each year, an estimated 10,000 young Canadians are diagnosed with cancer and approximately 8,000 of them will survive. Unfortunately, many young patients are not made aware of associated fertility risks prior to undergoing their cancer treatment. As a result, many are left infertile with few options. Fertile Future aspires to change this reality for young cancer patients by educating oncology professional about fertility preservation options and services available for their patients. These services include Fertile Future's educational brochures, online resources and our Power of Hope: Cost Reduction Program. The Power of Hope Program has been designed to help make fertility preservation an more accessible reality through a substantial reduction in the overall cost required to pursue timely fertility treatment."
All proceeds from the Wed By Hand raffle will go to Fertile Future. To find out more about the charity, visit their website .
